The History

Thor Bjørklund (1889–1975) was a cabinetmaker from Lillehammer. For a long time, he had pondered how cheese could be sliced more neatly. His idea led to a tool that was both gentler on the cheese and more economical for households. The cheese slicer was so unique that he patented it in 1925. This marked the beginning of an industrial adventure and a Norwegian icon that is still going strong nearly 100 years later.
